Welcome to Severn FM's Community Radio Website
On December 29th 2011 at midnight Severn FM successfully completed its first 28 day RSL licence to broadcast to South Gloucester on 87.9 FM.
We were amazed at the radio coverage area which far exceeded our expectations including most of Gloucester, parts of Cheltenham, the Forest and Stroud. In addition the internet radio stream brought in emails from all over the UK, South America, India and the Far East.
We are currently broadcasting as a 24 hour Internet Radio Station which you can receive on your smart phone using an internet radio app and here on www.severnfm.com
We have forged great links with our local schools, community organizations, our local MPs, Police and Fire Service as well as many, many other organizations and individuals who serve the community. Our remit to be a Community Radio Station has been met and exceeded.
Many thanks to everyone who tuned in, came into the studios to be interviewed on air, helped with publicity and funding, we couldn’t have done it without you all.
We hope to be back on air again in June 2012 and will now be seeking funding for that licence application. If you know of any likely sponsors or grants for this kind of community work please contact the station via www.severnfm.com or through our Facebook page. Remember to continue to tune in via our website, we are still streaming music, news and programming 24 hours a day / 7 days a week, with live shows in the evenings and at weekends.
Our programming aims to cover many different genres and styles of broadcasting, we are definitely not a "one size fits all" kind of station !

Programme Schedule
We are broadcasting live programming most weekday evenings from 9.00pm to 11.00pm,
every Saturday from 7.00am to 11.00pm and every Sunday from 9.00am to 10.00pm.
Weekday evenings are devoted to various music genres, Jazz, Country, Pop and Dance.
Saturday morning kicks off with the famous "Severn Bore Breakfast Show" followed by the "AM Booster", Pic 'n Mix and "Dan & Tom". On Saturday afternoons our Severn FM Sports Team bring all the news and chat from 2.00pm onwards. Saturday evenings are alive with the best music tracks to get your party time started.
Sundays begin with "Hits from the Decades" from Peter Street and "Sunday Smooth" from Alan Ford through until Sunday Spirit at 1.00pm. From 3.00pm the "Sunday Roast" chat and music takes us through to 5.00pm then Caryl brings us music from the 70's and 80's through until 7.00pm. The weekend broadcasts end with "Blake's Severn" smooth jazz sounds to wind down at the end of the day.
